David Seymour
David is ACT's candidate for Epsom
David Seymour is the MP for Epsom and ACT Leader. In his time in Parliament he has been responsible for charter schools, regulatory reform, and the End of Life Choice ACT. He has been named MP of the year in two of his six years.
Why is David running for ACT?
I’m seeking for my neighbours to reelect me as the MP for Epsom with their electorate vote. My message in the electorate is twofold. I commit to being a diligent MP, standing up for our community and the individuals in it when we have problems with Government. Second, by strategically voting ACT with your candidate vote, you can bring more additional MPs into Parliament than by voting for any other candidate.

Brooke van Velden
Brooke is ACT's candidate for Wellington Central
Brooke is qualified in international trade and was instrumental in passing the End of Life Choice Act as advisor to David Seymour in Parliament. She has been a factory worker and corporate affairs consultant. Her practical and political experience has given her a deep understanding of the economy and the effect big government policies and rushed laws have on businesses and individuals.
Why is Brooke running for ACT?
I am campaigning to raise ACT's Party Vote in Wellington Central. I switched from being a Green Party Voter to an ACT supporter while studying economics and international trade at Auckland University. The ability for free markets to lift countries from hardship was a revelation for me. Brooke is also a committed social liberal, championing the right to autonomy over our own bodies.
David Seymour on Brooke
Seldom does a parliamentary staffer play such an effective role in passing high profile legislation that they gain national media attention in their own right. Brooke is a highly effective operator who knows how to deliver real change in the corridors of power; I am campaigning to raise ACT's Party Vote to make her an MP proper.
If you want to help Brooke on campaign, please email [email protected].
Follow Brooke on Facebook.
Nicole McKee
Nicole is ACT's candidate for Rongotai
Nicole is a small business owner, who delivered firearms safety education in rural and isolated communities for the New Zealand Police. She also has a background in law, firearms component imports, and was the coordinator of the nation’s volunteer firearms safety instructors for the Mountain Safety Council and the spokesperson for the Council of Licenced Firearms Owners and its Fair and Reasonable Campaign.
Why is Nicole running for ACT?
I am campaigning to raise ACT’s Party Vote in Rongotai. I do not believe that emotive and rushed legislation that adversely affects those it is intended to support is viable. Our laws should be rooted in policies that recognise our democratic rights to think, to speak and to behave in a legal and unobstructed way. I am standing for ACT because our principles not only promote freedom to live within the law but also efficient policies while treating everyone as equal.
David Seymour on Nicole
I watched Nicole calmly and intelligently explain why the Government’s knee-jerk response to our nation’s tragedy in Christchurch was ineffective, divisive, and undemocratic. She has the qualities to be an excellent ACT MP, bringing change for a better New Zealand through her reason and intelligence. She brings a wealth of perspective from the firearms and hunting communities, but also her wider experience of rural New Zealand, as a mother, and running her own business.
If you want to help Nicole on campaign, please email [email protected].
Chris Baillie
Chris is ACT's candidate for Nelson
Chris is a full-time secondary teacher, former Policeman of 14 years' experience, and owner of a local hospitality venue employing 30 staff. He has a strong interest in sport and music, being an enthusiastic supporter of the local jazz scene.
Why is Chris running for ACT?
I am campaigning to raise ACT's Party Vote in Nelson. I believe in personal responsibility and personal freedom, in particular the right of free speech, and believe that less bureaucratic and government intervention in our lives is the way forward for New Zealand.
David Seymour on Chris
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Chris into Parliament this year. His range of experience from teaching to policing and owning a business would be a welcome addition to Parliament.
If you want to help Chris on campaign, please email [email protected].
Simon Court
Simon is ACT's candidate for Te Atatū
Simon is a Civil and Environmental Engineer with 23 years' experience in roles for the private sector and local government. This includes ten years leading engineering, planning, tendering, and construction teams primarily in Auckland, Wellington, and Fiji. Simon has three boys at high school. They share a love of loud music, fast cars, biking, fitness, good science, and good ideas. His youngest son has Down Syndrome and Simon intends to take a disability perspective to Parliament.
Why is Simon running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Te Atatu. I'm standing for ACT because I believe in the principles of the party where communities, individuals and business will lead the way. ACT promotes innovation, not regulation - reducing waste to landfill, bringing real sustainability in construction and building, and clean water in towns and country alike. One task for achieving this is replacing the RMA, which is not fit for purpose and needs to go.
David Seymour on Simon
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Simon into Parliament this year. I am thrilled to have a fellow engineer standing for ACT. Simon is the face of modern ACT, bringing an environmental perspective backed by having actually done the business solving large scale environmental problems here and internationally. He would raise the standard of environmental debate in parliament overnight.
If you want to help Simon on campaign, please email [email protected].
Follow Simon on Facebook.
James McDowall
James is ACT's candidate for Waikato
James owns several small businesses, including an immigration law firm. He also works for a large NGO in the mental health sector. James lives in Hamilton with his wife and young daughter. He has led the development of ACT's firearm policy in the wake of the Government's 2019 Arms Amendment Act.
Why is James running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Waikato. I'm a classical liberal who is skeptical of big Government. My experience in business and the community sector has taught me that Government has a role but when it oversteps that role it becomes part of the problem rather than the solution.
David Seymour on James
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like James into Parliament this year. James is a long-time campaigner for a freer New Zealand, and has been instrumental in developing the best firearm policy of any party. He would make a great MP compared with 90 per cent of the current Parliament on day one.
If you want to help James on campaign, please email [email protected].
Follow James on Facebook.
Karen Chhour
Karen is ACT's candidate for Upper Harbour
Karen is a self-employed mother of four who has lived on Auckland's North Shore for the last thirty years. She strongly believes that, with the right tools, anyone in this country can make something of themselves. We have spent way too long trying to make a broken system work.
Why is Karen running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Upper Harbour. I love this country but we have slowly taken away people's ability to think for themselves without them even realising it. We have forgotten what hard work and choices mean as there is always someone else to blame. This does not do anyone a favour if we are no longer responsible for ourselves.
David Seymour on Karen
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Karen into Parliament this year. Karen brings the kind of perspective that needs to be heard in parliament. If we want to beat poverty and give opportunity to all, Karen is better than ten ivory tower 'experts.'
If you want to help Karen on campaign, please email [email protected].
Mark Cameron
Mark is ACT's candidate for Northland
Mark is a 48 year old dairy farmer from Ruawai, Northland. He's lived and farmed around the Northland region for 30 years. He has a partner, Jodie, and three children.
Why is Mark running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Northland. I'm standing for ACT because I feel the rural sector has been let down by successive Governments of both major parties. The last two years have been particularly insulting to the rural community. Now that we have been given back some respect through the COVID-19 crisis, I'd like to see that respect materialise in a better go for farmers in Government policy.
David Seymour on Mark
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Mark into Parliament this year. Mark is a man of deep and good character. He is a critical thinker and family man from the land. Mark is no Queen Street farmer, he will bring Parliament the most authentic rural voice it has ever heard.
If you want to help Mark on campaign, please email [email protected].
Toni Severin
Toni is ACT's candidate for Christchurch East
Toni resides in Christchurch East with her husband. Together they run their own business that operates in Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland. Before this, Toni was a Qualified Lab Technician at CDHB for 14 years. A long-time ACT campaigner, Toni is a licensed firearm owner who understands the impact of the gun law reforms the Government implemented last year have had on law-abiding citizens in New Zealand.
Why is Toni running for ACT?
I am campaigning to raise ACT's Party Vote in Christchurch East. I hold strong values of self-responsibility, less government interference, freedom of choice. I lived through the devastating Canterbury earthquakes as the community came together to rebuild businesses and homes. This year New Zealand faces Covid-19 and we all must rebuild again not just in Christchurch, Kaikoura but the whole of New Zealand. We need common sense solutions – which the ACT Party always has.
David Seymour on Toni
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Toni into Parliament this year. Parliament needs more voices from people who run businesses like Toni's. They simply are not heard loudly or often enough in the corridors of power.
If you want to help Toni on campaign, please email [email protected].
Damien Smith
Damien is ACT's candidate for Botany
Damien Smith lives with his Daughter in Orakei, Auckland. He has extensive experience in business, banking, and company directorship. Damien has a Masters in Business Administration and is a qualified educationalist.
Why is Damien running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Botany. I'm standing for ACT because New Zealand needs its aspirational policy values: free trade, property rights and privacy, the right to conduct business, freedom of speech, a more accountable Government, and giving every citizen of New Zealand a fair go.
David Seymour on Damien
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Damien into Parliament this year. Damien's considerable experience in business, banking and fina/nce at the highest levels shows the kind of firepower ACT is bringing to Parliament this year.
If you want to help Damien on campaign, please email [email protected].
Miles McConway
Miles is ACT's candidate for Wigram
Miles is a solicitor practicing in Christchurch, where he lives with his fiancee. Originally from the Bay of Plenty, he has made his home in Canterbury for the past 10 years, where he has also volunteered as a case worker at Community Law Canterbury.
Why is Miles running for ACT?
I am campaigning to raise ACT's Party Vote in Wigram. I believe in New Zealanders’ rights to live in the way that they wish. ACT is a party that strives to uphold and advocate for New Zealanders’ freedoms, freedoms that I want my children and future generations of New Zealanders to enjoy.
David Seymour on Miles
Miles is a real talent and I'm thrilled he's on our team. We are working hard to grow ACT's Party Vote so that talented individuals such as Miles can join me in Parliament.
If you want to help Miles on campaign, please email [email protected].
Beth Houlbrooke
Beth is ACT's candidate for Kaipara ki Mahurangi
Beth is an award-winning businesswoman, with over 30 years experience in small business from horticulture, beef farming, furniture moving, concrete tank manufacturing, flooring applications, transport brokering, and NPO administration. A mother of two, Beth is also a successful politician in her own right, having served three terms on Auckland Council's Rodney Local Board, including one term as Chair and one as Deputy.
Why is Beth running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Kaipara ki Mahurangi. I'm a long-time party member and activist who lives and breathes the party's values of personal freedom. My experience in business, farming, Boards of Trustees and local councils has taught me that the Government that governs least governs best.
David Seymour on Beth
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Beth into Parliament this year. Beth is a doer and a worker. Her rich experience of business, education, and local government would make her a better MP than 90 percent of incumbents on day one.
If you want to help Beth on campaign, please email [email protected].
Follow Beth on Facebook.
Carmel Claridge
Carmel is ACT's candidate for Tāmaki
Carmel is a lawyer by profession with an additional degree in Political Science. She has also run her own small businesses in the fitness and pet services industries. A founding member and former media spokesperson for the Auckland Ratepayers Alliance, she has a proven track record in eliminating wasteful Council spending. A former Deputy Chair of the Orakei Local Board, she has held leadership positions within her community as Chair of Friends of Pourewa Valley, and Co-Chair of the Tamaki Estuary Environment Forum.
Why is Carmel running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Tāmaki. I have felt a growing concern for some time over the steady erosion of the basic tenets of democracy in the country I love. Botched firearms legislation overriding our basic private property rights, nonsensical introduction of hate speech law, a bloated regulatory regime creating roadblock after roadblock preventing development. Government overreach into our private and business lives has become unacceptable, and a stranglehold on progress and productivity. It's time for that to change so this beautiful nation of ours may fulfill its exciting potential. ACT is the only party to hold firm to the principles that will enable us to do that together as a nation. Party Vote ACT
David Seymour on Carmel
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Carmel into Parliament this year. We are thrilled to have such an experienced political operator and businesswoman standing for ACT in Tāmaki.
If you want to help Carmel on campaign, please email [email protected].

Bruce Carley
Bruce is ACT's candidate for Bay of Plenty
Bruce has worked in communications and management roles for 30 years, mainly in technology distribution and software development. He's managed marketing for local representation of multinational technology companies as well as shareholder relations for a listed company. He now manages marketing and communications for a chain of outdoor power equipment stores across Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
Why is Bruce running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Bay of Plenty. I believe in personal freedom and personal responsibility. All adults should be able to determine their own path, with the minimum of external interference. Governments should protect people's assets and freedoms, not place limitations on them. No government can run a household or business better than those who invest their own time and money into it.
David Seymour on Bruce
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Bruce into Parliament this year. Bruce is a seasoned campaigner and I'm thrilled that he is standing for ACT again.
If you want to help Bruce on campaign, please email [email protected].
Follow Bruce on Facebook.
Cameron Luxton
Cameron is ACT's candidate for Tauranga
Cameron is a self-employed builder and married father of two kids who lives in Papamoa where he was raised. Cameron's seven year “OE” was in a great little place next to Te Urewera National park named Galatea, share-milking a 200ha operation. He won Apprentice of the Year at the Dairy Industry Awards, but the most important experience he had during this time was joining a community and developing relationships with people in the one of the poorest, most deprived areas in the region. He observed the damage which government can wrought on a community with many hard working people, and how policies which restrict development, movement, and self-reliance can cause areas to decline.
Why is Cameron running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Tauranga. Our societal success is born from liberty and that is the foundation every citizen needs to cherish to allow us to achieve our personal and societal goals; ACT is a defender of this freedom.
David Seymour on Cameron
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Cameron into Parliament this year. We're thrilled to have a builder, award winning farmer and family man from the Bay standing for ACT this year.
If you want to help Cameron on campaign, please email [email protected].

Grae is ACT's candidate for Remutaka
Grae is a 47 year old IT specialist who is married with three children and two step children. He likes keeping fit, history, politics, and geography.
Why is Grae running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in the Remutaka Electorate. I believe that free markets and the private sector beats regulation and the State sector in the vast majority of times when it comes to outcomes. The unintended consequences of left-wing ideals needs to be exposed.
David Seymour on Grae
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Grae into Parliament this year. Grae is an experienced campaigner who rolls up his sleeves and makes a difference every day. He's the kind of person that New Zealand needs in Parliament.
If you want to help Grae on campaign, please email [email protected].

Why is Dave running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Port Waikato. I have seen a large section of NZ society affected by laws passed by our current government in the most undemocratic manner that I have ever witnessed. This has inspired me to become an ACT party list candidate, I want our democracy back.
David Seymour on Dave
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Dave into Parliament this year. He brings the kind of experience and perspective this country needs in its House of Representatives.
If you want to help Dave on campaign, please email [email protected].

Andy Parkins
Andy is ACT's candidate for Hutt South
Andy is a nuts-and-bolts kind of guy, getting jobs done efficiently and effectively. He has 10+ years management experience in the recycling and waste minimisation industry, while also a keen petrol head, home DIYer, music enthusiast, and spaniel walker. The Covid19 lockdown is the only thing that's stopped this guy moving in a long time, and he is the kind of guy you want to have a beer with.
Why is Andy running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Hutt South. I strongly believe freedom and libertarian principles, particularly around regulation and taxation, are essential to our country's prosperity.
David Seymour on Andy

Robert Andrews
Robert is ACT's candidate for Taieri
Robert has worked as a professional shooter and hunter for over 30 years, involved in pest eradication in lower South Island. Since 1990 I have been self-employed, working for the Pest Board and on private contract pest control, venison recovery, TBfree monitoring and survey contracts. I also use firearms recreationally as a hunter, as a member of a pistol club and in competition. He placed in the top ten for his category at the 2018 world champs, and is a collector of historical firearms.
Why is Robert running for ACT?
I am campaigning to raise ACT's Party Vote in Taieri. I saw first hand the issues caused by the Muldoon government, unions, and the Labour party of the past. I am a firm believer in the backbone of New Zealand being small business, limited government, and people's right of self-determination.
David Seymour on Robert
Robert is ACT's very own Barry Crump, and represtents tens of thousands of people pushed towards ACT by the Government's rushed, offensive, and ineffective firearm laws in 2019. We are pleased to have him on the team.
If you want to help Robert on campaign, please email [email protected].

David Seymour on Stu

His work focuses on the area of Asset Management and Reliability. Sean lives in Lake Hawea with his partner Nicola.
Why is Sean running for ACT?
I am pleased to be standing to promote the Party Vote in the Waitaki. With a greater ACT influence in government I wish to see all New Zealanders given the freedom to determine their own individual outcomes in life and succeed. ACT party values align closely with my own, respecting the important relationship between cause and effect, and the need for productivity to facilitate an environment where we can invest for a better tomorrow. In my work and travel I have witnessed the dis-empowering impacts of excessive and oppressive governance and never wish to see these ideas gain traction in New Zealand. We have long been a nation of inventive nature and strong ethics. Given the freedom to innovate, I am confident we will continue to find good solutions to the problems of today and the future.
David Seymour on Sean
Sean brings an impressive amount of local and international experience to the table. It's the kind of perspective that we're campaigning hard to bring into Parliament this year.

Why is Jan running for ACT?
I’m standing to raise ACT’s Party Vote in Tukutuki. I believe that individualism flourishes in a society that promotes freedom, equality, rational reason, and critical enquiry. Although governments are vital to guarantee order and stability they should also be subject to constant checks and balances to define and achieve a civil society. I want to speak up for what is becoming a silenced majority.
David Seymour on Jan
We are growing ACT’s party vote to get people like Jan into Parliament this year. I’m pleased she’s put up her hand to wave the flag for ACT in Tukutuki. Her passion and authentic voice would add a lot to any caucus.

Richard is a practicing Chartered Professional Engineer (Civil and Structural). He's an employer of over 25 staff in the electorate. As a 1990’s immigrant, he sees himself as a conscientious Kiwi with a passion for his region and our country. I have a keen interest in assisting Small Business, especially with their interaction with Local Government. I support the removal of red tape and poorly written laws, and want to reinforce personal and property rights and make doing business easier.
David Seymour on Richard
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Richard into Parliament this year. I have always said Parliament needs more engineers for the practical perspective they bring, and Richard's combination of engineering and business would be a major addition to the quality of voices in the House.

Why is Tommy running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Maungakiekie. I'm standing for ACT’s principles of freedom and responsibility: respecting other people’s right to live according to their own values, and understanding that incentives matter – that high taxes and less responsibility changes people’s behaviour and limits our success.
David Seymour on Tommy
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Tommy into Parliament this year. Tommy brings a range of talents, in particular his engineering background would be valuable for facing the challenge of restarting New Zealand's economy.
If you want to help Tommy on campaign, please email [email protected].

Why is Sean running for ACT?
I'm standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Ohariu. My life experience has shown that anyone can overcome setbacks and achieve wonderful things, provided they are given a chance to do so. The only voice in New Zealand politics which expresses these values clearly and unequivocally is ACT.
David Seymour on Sean
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Sean into Parliament this year. We’re pleased to have Sean, a true community-focused man and small business owner campaigning in Ohariu.

My companies are active across electorate and are major sponsors of several community activities, e.g., Sculpture on the Peninsula and The Banks Peninsula Conservation Trust
Why is David running for ACT?
Sound economic and fiscal management is crucial to NZ’s recovery from the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.\nThe pragmatic and insightful actions taken by Rodger Douglas as Minister of Finance in 1984 were pivotal in rescuing NZ from the disastrous financial situation that Muldoon and the National Government had created with market subsidies and the control of market forces in the preceding 9 years. Just as it was then then, free enterprise is what is required today to get us back on the road to prosperity\nACT as a supporter of business and free enterprise would focus on government establishing the best environment to create jobs and, therefore, reducing the number of people seeking social welfare and financial support. After all, governments don’t make money, they simply spend money. We must establish a Government that creates the best environment for free enterprise to prosper.\nACT is a party that supports tolerance and respect for others. It supports free-market enterprise, personal freedom and, of course, the self-responsibility that goes with that.

David Freeman
David is ACT's candidate for Taupō
David is a former soldier. After leaving the army he has run his own logistics business, building on skills he learned in the service, including serving in Afganistan as a civilian.
Why is David running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Taupō. Our societal success is born from liberty. That is the foundation every citizen needs to cherish to allow us to achieve our personal and societal goals. ACT is a defender of this freedom and I will help in the best way I can.
David Seymour on David
David has served our country overseas and built a successful business at home. He is the kind of person you get if you give your Party Vote to ACT, and a good reason to do so.
If you want to help David on campaign, please email [email protected].
William Gardner
William is ACT's candidate for West Coast-Tasman
William knows what hard work and commitment are, being an experienced farmer and gold miner, and having represented New Zealand at world cup events. William competed in 1969 bobsled, and at the 1972 world cup represented New Zealand in skiing. William is also passionate about the environment, having restored his own previously-mined land.
Why is William running for ACT?
I'm standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in West-Coast Tasman. I’m passionate about the farming and mining industries. I want to see more emphasis on health and safety and innovation in these industries.
David Seymour on William
William brings passion for the people, industries and environment in the West-Coast Tasman area. It's the kind of perspective that we're campaigning hard to bring into Parliament this year..
If you want to help William on campaign, please email [email protected].
Paul Gilbert
Paul is ACT's candidate for Ilam
Paul has lived virtually his entire life within the boundaries of the Ilam electorate. In his time off from running his own small business he trains for ultra-marathons, enjoys craft beer, seemingly single-handedly keeps the NZ racing industry in business with an inept level of punting and still finds time to play bass guitar in a punk band. He's the candidate everyone wants to have a beer with.
Why is Paul running for ACT?
I'm standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Ilam. ACT has always believed in fostering a culture of aspiration, giving people more choices, putting you in the drivers’ seat. New Zealand is a great country, we are all lucky to live here. But we can do better. This will come about by depowering the government and empowering the individual. A vote for ACT means less nanny-state, less red-tape, and hopefully less tax on life’s pleasures and necessities.
David Seymour on Paul
Paul is a great character and a great New Zealander. We're campaigning hard to raise ACT's Party Vote to get more people like Paul into parliament.
If you want to help Paul on campaign, please email [email protected].
Paul Grace
Paul is ACT's candidate for Whangaparāoa
Paul worked for his forme making company for 15 years before taking it over in 2000. It is now an SME with 6 staff. He is proud to have innovated to be one of the most technological cutting forme makers in New Zealand.
Why is Paul running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Whangaparaoa. Historically, as a small-business owner, I have voted National and for several years we saw stable economic growth. However, our environment isn’t static, and neither should our policies be for facing these changes. Over the last decade, I’ve followed quite closely all the NZ parties and their different policies for taking on our growing challenges. I can empathise with the different sides of every debate; however, I lean towards rational and sound solutions. Continuing from that, my political values have closely aligned with ACT and their philosophies on getting New Zealand back on track.
David Seymour on Paul
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Paul into Parliament this year. The COVID crisis showed how poorly represented SMEs are in politics, especially in the current Government. Paul would bring a sorely needed authentic SME voice into the House.
If you want to help Paul on campaign, please email [email protected].
Wayne Grattan
Wayne is ACT's candidate for Ōtaki
Wayne has lived in the Ōtaki Electorate for more than 20 years with family, children and grandchildren there. His family is part of the community. He has grown a business from an Ōtaki base into a large and successful organisation providing services to many of our largest companies, as well as supplying his own products direct to international customers.
Why is Wayne running for ACT?
I'm standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Ōtaki. ACT values align with my own and I want ACT to be an important part of a centre-right government, governing for everybody and especially the young. Primary production and caring for our environment are important to me.
David Seymour on Wayne
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Wayne into Parliament this year. We're thrilled to have Wayne, a successful business owner and family man with deep roots in the community campaigning in Ōtaki.
If you want to help Wayne on campaign, please email [email protected].
Roger Greenslade
Roger is ACT's candidate for Wairarapa
Roger is a 49-year-old secondary school teacher, currently working at Assumption College in Samut Sakhon, Thailand. He is standing from abroad because he has two children Andrew (20) and Renee (16) who live in New Zealand and his long-term commitment is to the Wairarapa. Roger lived in Masterton for 15 years and worked at Wairarapa College before heading overseas for work in 2016. He still owns his family home in Masterton, where his son resides.
Why is Roger running for ACT?
I was drawn to the ACT Party because of its fundamental principles of Freedom, Choice and Personal Responsibility. ACT is the only party consistently prepared to stand up for these principles, which is why I am standing in the Wairarapa to get the Party Vote
David Seymour on Roger
I am thrilled that Roger is so committed he is standing for ACT from abroad, as I did in the 2008 election.
If you want to help Roger on campaign, please email [email protected].
Hamish Hutton
Hamish is ACT's candidate for Rangitata
Hamish grew up on a farm in Windwhistle, with his family having farmed in Canterbury since 1842. His career began in London marketing some of the world’s biggest brands before he went on to help launch multiple technology companies in the UK before returning to NZ with his wife Suzy. Hamish has led marketing and business development for Tait and Fonterra, and has also co-founded a rural solar energy company and an online retail platform. He is now the Chief Marketing Officer of a Kiwi software exporter.
Why is Hamish running for ACT?
I'm standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Rangitata. I am passionate about the role our farms, small businesses and new technology will play in creating opportunity for all Kiwis - rural and urban. The major parties, distracted by their pursuit of political power, are failing to create the diverse and vibrant business environment necessary to support the decent and inclusive society I would like my three boys to grow up in. I see ACT leadership as having the best ideas on how to get New Zealand through the current, unprecedented economic challenges.
David Seymour on Hamish
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Hamish into Parliament this year. Hamish knows a good business idea when he sees it, and he knows the importance of good leadership. For these two reasons alone, he’d be ahead of the game day one in Parliament.
If you want to help Hamish on campaign, please email [email protected].
Abigail Johnson
Abigail is ACT's candidate for Christchurch Central
Abigail is a Canterbury native who is proud to live, work, and study in Christchurch. She is completing a Bachelor of Commerce degree in economics, while also being an employee of a small business. Abigail spends her weekends making the most of the Ōtautahi outdoors.
Why is Abigail running for ACT?
I am campaigning to raise ACT's Party Vote in Christchurch Central. My focus is on advancing individual liberties including freedom of expression and choice in education, as well as continuing to scrutinize the actions - or inaction - of the current government.
David Seymour on Abigail
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Abigail into Parliament this year. She is a bright and passionate Cantabrian and I'm proud to have her standing for ACT.
If you want to help Abigail on campaign, please email [email protected].
Chris Johnston
Chris is ACT's candidate for Mt Roskill
Chris is a Project Manager who was born in Whanganui and has lived around Mt Roskill and Dominion Road for 8 years with his wife and children.
Why is Chris running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Mt Roskill. I am standing for ACT because I value diversity in humans and believe in the power of individuals and families to create a positive and powerful difference in New Zealand. Solutions by government departments cannot match the combined innovation of a diverse community. Bad things have and are happening to good people. As a society we naturally innovate to adapt. ACT policies encourage and support innovation by enabling businesses in the community to respond.
David Seymour on Chris
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Chris into Parliament this year. Chris is an energetic and compassionate man, and a deep thinker. His intelligence would be a welcome addition to parliament.
If you want to help Chris on campaign, please email [email protected].

Nick Kearney
Nick is ACT's candidate for North Shore
Nick is a partner of a medium-sized law firm in Takapuna, and holds a Masters degree in Law with a focus on real estate. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Nick was a police officer. Nick is a longstanding member of Act, having joined the party in 1996 and he has stood in 6 successive elections. Nick holds stubborn views on the limited role that government should play in people's lives (but sadly doesn't) and the role the State should play in protecting personal liberties and freedoms, without the creep by governments into our lives that seems constant. Nick has been elected twice to local boards in Auckland's local body elections. He has been with his wife for 21 years and they have a 19 year old daughter studying law in Wellington.
Why is Nick running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in the North Shore.
David Seymour on Nick
Nick has been a longstanding ACT supporter who has stood for us many times. It is a privilege to have him on the team this year.
If you want to help Nick on campaign, please email [email protected].
Judy Kendall
Judy is ACT's candidate for Napier
Judy grew up in Wellington and makes her home in Napier. She has a wide range of experience including dairy, sheep and beef farming as well as company management. She also worked for 3 years at Parliament.
Why is Judy running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Napier. I believe that Parliament needs a range of talents to make better policy for New Zealand. My experience across farming and business would allow me to speak for a wide range of New Zealanders in Parliament.
David Seymour on Judy
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get candidates like Judy into Parliament this year. We are thrilled to have Judy standing for ACT in Napier.
If you want to help Judy on campaign, please email [email protected].

Tim Kronfeld
Tim is ACT's candidate for Northcote
Tim has been employed in the bond and equity markets since graduating from Massey with a BBS in 1980. Currently, he works broking derivatives in the commodity and equity markets. Tim has a fantastic partner, 3 adult children and 3 teenage sons and has been a resident in Northcote since 1986. He has always been an advocate of low flat taxes and minimal Government and a champion of personal liberties and responsibility.
Why is Tim running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Northcote. I'm standing for ACT because the way forward post Covid-19 will challenge the very best. The costs and associated bail-outs and fall-outs are yet to be quantified. The scale of a closed tourism market, the subsequent recession and its impact on Government revenues will be large. The entitlement culture will be the biggest challenge facing the new Government.
David Seymour on Tim
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Tim into Parliament this year. Tim's financial experience would add a lot to any caucus, especially in the current challenging climate. We'll be proud to make him an ACT MP.
If you want to help Tim on campaign, please email [email protected].
Michael McCook

If you want to help Michael on campaign, please email [email protected].
Mike McCormick
Mike is ACT's candidate for Takanini
Mike brings experience in the horticulture, retail and logistics industries. This experience has given him a broad exposure to, and perspective of, the challenges facing the average Kiwi. He enjoys shooting sports and has spent numerous years pursuing competitive target shooting.
Why is Mike running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Takanini. I'm standing for ACT because Kiwis deserve a better deal. We are over-taxed and over-regulated. My wife and I sent our 3 children to state schools. The focus is too often on instilling political ideology. There is not enough emphasis on education and critical thinking skills. Following the national tragedy that occurred on March 15, 2019, our Parliament capitulated in the face of terrorism. The political landscape in New Zealand needs to change. We must vote for a political party that believes in defending and promoting the ideals of individual freedom and liberty and private property rights.
David Seymour on Mike
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Mike into Parliament this year. Mike is a stand-up New Zealander passionate about preserving and promoting our free society. I'm proud to have him on our team.
If you want to help Mike on campaign, please email [email protected].

Why is Brent running for ACT?

David Seymour on Brent

Why is Matthew running for ACT?
I’m standing to raise ACT’s Party Vote in Kelston. Having worked with many small businesses, I’m acutely aware of the value small business bring to the economy and society. A post COVID-19 world requires fresh thinking to stimulate the economy and maintain our standard of living. I believe ACT’s fundamental values of freedom and promoting a more efficient government will empower communities and make New Zealand a better place to live for all.
David Seymour on Matthew
We are growing ACT’s Party Vote to get people like Matthew into Parliament this year. He would make a great MP compared with 90 per cent of the current Parliament on day one.

Why is Jack running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Palmerston North. I am putting my hand up to build bridges between sometimes widely divided groups in New Zealand to create meaningful change in my community.
David Seymour on Jack

Why is Felix running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Auckland Central. I believe that the best option for students this election is the ACT Party. ACT's plan for the economy will secure housing, jobs and opportunities for the future, and not leave my generation with a huge pile of debt.
David Seymour on Felix
Felix has proven he has more tenacity, strength of character and intelligence than many of our current politicians. I’m proud to have this up-and-comer in our team, encouraging his generation to Party Vote ACT.

Why is Callum running for ACT?
I am campaigning to raise ACT's Party Vote in Dunedin. In previous elections I tried to help both Labour and National, both parties unintentionally showed me why my home is ACT. I'll be working hard to convince my community of that too.
David Seymour on Callum
Callum is a hard worker and I'm thrilled to have him standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Dunedin this year.
If you want to help Callum on campaign, please email [email protected].

Why is Blake running for ACT?
I’m standing to raise ACT’s Party Vote in East Coast. As a manager and employer, I understand the need for our economy to grow to support more jobs in my community. I believe through hard work and personal responsibility we can all make differences in our lives. ACT has consistently fought for efficiency in our system and a high wage, high growth economy.
David Seymour on Blake

Why is Roger running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Hamilton West. My desire to run for Parliament stems from an ever-increasing concern about how Government looks to interfere in the freedoms of every day New Zealanders. Having had the benefit of working abroad, I have seen what happens when Governments forget the pillars of a western democracy.
David Seymour on Roger
Roger is a great example of the kind of New Zealander who should be in Parliament. I am campaigning hard to make sure there are more people like Roger in our Parliament come September.
If you want to help Roger on campaign, please email [email protected].

He left school to do an electrical apprenticeship and ultimately completed NZCE in electronics. Why is Bruce running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in Papakura. I'm standing for ACT because I believe in the values of a free society. It's only with self reliance and individual rights that we can all reach our potential.
David Seymour on Bruce
We are growing ACT's Party Vote to get people like Bruce into Parliament this year. His story of striving, achieving, and family is exactly the kind of story that should be heard more in Parliament.
If you want to help Bruce on campaign, please email [email protected].

Ada Xiao
Ada is ACT's candidate for New Plymouth
Ada is an aircraft design engineer currently studying Macroeconomics. Originally from China, she now makes her home in New Plymouth.
Why is Ada running for ACT?
I am standing to raise ACT's Party Vote in New Plymouth. ACT is the only party that is rational rather than emotional. In such a period of crisis, we need rationality to rebuild the economy quickly and efficiently. We also need to properly assert New Zealand's place in the world. We should be unafraid to speak out on issues such as Taiwan's membership of the WHO. I support ACT's stances on issues such as Hong Kong protests on university campuses here in New Zealand and I will strengthen ACT's position on these issues.
David Seymour on Ada
We are really happy to have Ada on our team. She thinks like an engineer and that's exactly the kind of thinking New Zealand needs amidst a crisis.
If you want to help Ada on campaign, please email [email protected].
